Celebrations: Good Friday:Scotland

Scotland

My country is Scotland. we are writing about celebrations here
is one that I am learning about,it’s called Good Friday.
It’s a holiday that celebrates, the death of Jesus,
for the peace that he gave to the world.
It says in the bible that when he dies peace will come to the earth and all of the sin
would go away, and it did go away so there is more peace today then back then ,
so we celebrate it for the death of Jesus that brings us peace.

The Endeavor

The Endeavor was a Royal British Navy research vessel.
Lieutenant James Cook Commanded it to New Zealand and Australia
from the town Plymouth from the years 1768 to 1771.
The Endeavor was originally the merchant collier Earl of Pembroke, it was built by Thomas Fish burn for Thomas Miller, it launched in June of 1764 from the coal and whaling port of Whitby in North Yorkshire. It was ship-rigged and sturdily built with a indain american wood,   a flat bow, a square stern, and a long box-like body with a deep cargo hold. The hull, internal floors, and futtocks were built from a white oak, its keel and stern post were made from elm and its tall masts from pine and fir. Plans of the ship also showed a double keelson to lock the keel, the floors and frames in place.

The Endeavor carried 94 people including the captens James Cook and Joseph Banks. With 18 months stocks of all kinds of food and drink. they were tasked with observing a very rare event when the planet venus passed over the sun, it was called the transit of venus. The crew also had a secret mission to find a land of the unknown land of the south.
